Knuutila Manor’s renovation and maintenance plan was my first independent project in 1998 and therefore to be noted. I created it with Elina Kataja right after I completed my MLA. Knuutila, a historic manor in Nokia by Lake Kulovesi, offered a wonderfully rich cultural landscape to work with.​

We created a plan with clear maintenance instructions for plants, plus ideas for event, view and shoreline arrangements. Over the past 25 years, the Siuro village society has activated the site with events, sustainability initiatives and accommodation, turning Knuutila into a charming Nordic venue for celebrations, a self-service hotel and sauna
